New same-day service will give TradePoint customers access to deliveries within two hours, while B&Q has expanded its Deliveroo partnership to more than 100 stores.

B&Q is strengthening its fast delivery offer with the launch of TradePoint Express, a new same-day delivery service for trade customers, in partnership with courier network Gophr.

TradePoint Business Development Managers can arrange deliveries from B&Q’s standalone TradePoint store in Barking and 123 participating B&Q stores across the UK. Customers can choose delivery within two hours or book a two-hour delivery slot for later the same day.

The service is designed to help trade professionals spend less time travelling to collect materials and more time on the job. B&Q plans to extend TradePoint Express to all TradePoint stores later this year.

The launch comes as B&Q expands its Deliveroo partnership to more than 100 stores nationwide, following a successful trial. Customers can order more than 9,000 home improvement products through the platform, with deliveries available in as little as 35 minutes.

Together, the services give trade and retail customers additional ways to access the products they need, whether they are planning a project, dealing with an urgent repair or responding to a last-minute requirement.

TradePoint Express also forms part of B&Q’s wider investment in faster and more convenient ways to shop. Recent enhancements include the introduction of Marketplace Click + Collect, adding to the retailer’s range of collection and delivery options.

Amélie Gallichan Todd, Supply & Logistics Director at B&Q, said: “We’re continually evolving the ways customers can shop with B&Q, making it faster and more convenient to access the products they need. The launch of TradePoint Express to more than 100 stores is an important step in that journey, giving both trade and retail customers greater flexibility through a range of delivery options designed to suit different project needs. As our customer expectations continue to evolve, we’re focused on making it easier for them to get the right products, exactly when and where they need them.”

John Morgan, Director of TradePoint, said: “Time is one of the most valuable resources for trade professionals. TradePoint Express has been designed to help our members spend less time collecting materials and more time focused on the job. By working with our TradePoint Business Development Managers and Gophr, we’re providing a flexible same-day delivery service that helps keep projects moving and supports customers when timing matters most.”

Graham Smith, Commercial Director at Gophr, said: “Gophr’s partnership with B&Q supporting the launch of TradePoint Express will help deliver a faster, more convenient service for trade customers. Our technology and delivery network enable flexible, same-day fulfilment that meets the needs of busy professionals, helping products move quickly and efficiently from store to site.”

Suzy McClintock, VP of Consumer at Deliveroo, said: “Deliveroo customers frequently use the platform for their home improvement needs, as they seek out quick and convenient delivery during those DIY emergencies. By expanding our successful partnership with B&Q nationwide, more customers than ever can keep those home improvement projects moving, with access to what they need, when they need it. Whether it’s paint or power tools, we can have them delivered to your doorstep in as little as 35 minutes.”
